The microalgae olive oil bottle and serving plate have been designed as a part of San Vero Milis Collection Zero, a project by Atelier LUMA supported by the MEDSEA Foundation, under the artistic direction of Henriette Waal.
The objects which are 3D Pinted with microalgae biofilament at Atelier Luma, and handwoven with wetland fibers by local artisans at Sardinia, explore the possibilities of combining traditional and contemporary production methods, suggesting new potentials for bio fabrication.

The radial symmetry of the bottle is based on the geometric structure of the sea urchin which is a local endangered species in Sardinia. The holes embedded in the bottle’s skin follow the geometry of the specific weaving method of the craftswomen, aiming to simplify the weaving process.
