Atelier Luma is a think tank, a production workshop and a learning network of the Luma Foundation based in Arles. Its Algae Lab was founded in 2017, to explore existing algae realities, the potential of growing micro- and macro-algae locally, and how it can be combined with biopolymers that can replace fossil oil-based plastics.
Algae biopolymers developed by atelier LUMA were used to 3D-print prototypes of water wessels were designed by participants, drawing on particular cultural archives on traditional glass vessels.
